Coach Mora > Wasabi Fenway Bowl Press Conference (12/20/24)

Can't think of a better person to be leading the team and those young men during this crazy time with the portal and NIL. Still can't believe sometimes that UConn managed to get such a great coach.
Totally agree. He seems to have the player's best interests in mind at all time. Very comfortable and eloquent when talking to the media. Such a positive influence, straight shooter and good guy.

-> Running back Durell Robinson and defensive back Malcolm Bell will not be playing for UConn in the Fenway Bowl vs. North Carolina on Dec. 28. Those are the only players among those in the portal who have opted out so far. Defensive lineman Pryce Yates is also practicing with intent to play.

“My message to these guys was, ‘you worked so hard to get to this point, let’s finish it,'” Mora said. “Them being in the portal is not an affront to us.” <-

-> With Robinson out, there’s an opening in the backfield for Victor Rosa to return. Rosa dealt with a hamstring injury early in the season, then had surgery for a broken finger and was not cleared to return for several weeks. By then, it was decided the best move was to redshirt and save the year of eligibility. Playing against North Carolina won’t affect that, so Rosa will join Cam Edwards and Mel Brown in the Huskies’ rotation of runners <-

STARTS 4M IN:

Mora is awesome. After watching that presser I want to suit up and play for the guy. Totally mature posture toward the recent changes in the college game.

All he has to do is reiterate that same message to recruits and we will attract some petty good talent, out of high school and the portal.
