Earlier on this championship celebration day, a link to a NYTimes article was provided:

It's a very good article on Caroline Doty's career at UCONN, detailing, of course, her injury setbacks. It also mentions coaching possibilities in her future. It also says:
"She is planning to depart next spring with a master’s degree in educational psychology."
That is the part that jumped out at me. If you're already an athlete, skilled in the process of physical conditioning, familiar with Xs and Os and able to identify athletic ability, I can think of few better paths to enhancing coaching ability than getting a master's degree in educational psychology.
