Someone has to be thinking about, short term next couple of years, we need a quality bench coach who can relief JC at least 4 games per year.

Get him as rested as possible.

If we lose to Pitt, I rather we have a rested Calhoun to try to get us at least 3 wins at the BET than force the issue and win against Pitt but have him aggravate his back and be out the next game or two.

i have been saying this all along.....as great a coach that coach calhoun is, these midseason health sabaticals are just so unfair to the kids. lets get this straight, these kids hear as early as last week that coach will most likely be back for pitt. they lose a nailbitter to syracuse, blow a 14 pt lead late to providence and now find out that coach wont be on the sidelines on sat. talk about being dejected. my heart will always hold onto hope, but my mind and basketball sense tell me tomorrow can be ugly. a lost season on many fronts, but i am being told not to worry. a healty calhoun will be back in time for us to win five games in five nights. we saw how well this team played the first time calhoun got back. i am sorry, maybe i am numb from this season, but i am not buying it. i think itsbecoming more and more likely they lose to tomorrow and tuesday, we go to the nit, and its 2010 all over again.

He's at practice and is going to judge how he feels after to determine if he'll coach tomorrow. Think ESPN hit the story a little too early

Just out of curiosity, what is it about Hobbs or Ollie that makes them potential successors to JC?
What about Moore. Isn't he the "coach in waiting anymore"

Back to work
He is in the gym at Gampel, coaching the Huskies as we speak, practice beginning a short time ago. It’s not certain he will coach in the game, but he appears to be up and moving around fairly well, so my guess would be he will.
We’ll know more after practice in a couple of hours.

Moore still hasn't gotten QU to the big dance yet after 4 years. The conference QU plays in is perhaps the weakest D-1 conference in the land.
My guess is it's way to early to judge Moore yet

Looks like we won't know if he will coach til tomorrow am. Borges reporting that JC will coach tomorrow depending on how he feels in the am.

Well I'm glad I read the thread and not just the title. I will be there. I don't want to get built up for a letdown, but I am not ashamed to admit that I have goosebumps right now just thinking about the prospect of seeing him walk through the tunnel tomorrow, and that I will probably get misty if he does. This guy has brought a lot of happiness to my life and I really miss watching him coach my team.

I was talking about subbing for JC not replacing him. We need to look at multiple candidates.
Quite frankly no one on the staff has done s great job this year.
