Big shout out to DC.

Not just the rebounds and blocks.

He had two plays where he Dove on the floor to go after loose balls and one more where he kinda Dove out of bounds to bat or keep the ball in play.

And he looked relatively nimble doing those plays.

Not easy for a 7'2" 260 lbs freshmen to react and get on the floor without fouling or hurting himself.

Give him an entire summer to work on his touch around the rim and he's going to be damn near unstoppable next season. He's got a good looking shot too, but for whatever reason he struggles to make FT. If you watch him in warm ups, he drills 3's lol

He looked for a 3 once really early in season. He doesnt now. Was obviously told to stop. (Calhoun barely let his PF shoot 3's unless it was Donyell, much less a center )But next year he can definitely hit on the top of key screen actions. He is a good shooter. Someone his size shooting 3's is doing the other team favors being away from rim, but he has it to make you think. And if teams have to respect that, his passing will pick teams apart on Hi Lows and back cuts.

I'm sure he's been takin' notes on Adama's bag of tricks in and around the hoop this year in practice. Have even seen a few of them in games.. Could easily see him evolving into a McHale kind of offensive player where once he's got the ball in his spot in the paint.. Party's over..Count the points.

He is a force to deal with. Many opponents change their shot and miss when he is the guard dog. Great to have him!

Well Calhoun also coached in an entirely different era of basketball. NBA centers that can't shoot the 3 are going extinct.

It's weird how someone with such fantastic hands catching the ball can have such abysmal touch around the rim. Probably comes from dunking 98% of his shots through age 18.

When he learns to put that little jump hook in with either hand at 60% or better, the Big East is going to need to change their recruiting to match it. I'm not sure there's a single person in the conference who could guard Clingan with a single post move.

1 reliable post move and a few in-game reps on midrange jumpers will make him unstoppable next year

High school stats are notoriously unreliable but I believe he was somewhere around 75%

It hit DC in the hands, then bounced to his face. It was a good pass. He needs to be ready for the ball whenever he's in that position. It will come.

It seems Hurley doesn't want him taking 3s yet, but I'd love to see him take a few shots from 3-4 feet inside the arc. It would still pull defenders away from the rim.

Brimah had good footwork and athleticism but poor hands.
Enoch had an NBA body , strength, decent hands , but Junior HS footwork
Two guys that made some NBA money were :
Jake , NBA strength , good hands and footwork but lacking quickness.
Travis. Decent quickness , good hands and footwork but lacking strength .
Obviously Emeka had it all except a bad back.

Cliff was a 4 who could play the 5
Sanogo has no chance unless he learns a face up game . He is not a 5
The ironic part is with good coaching and hard work he could play the 4 at the next level

Maybe, but it looked to me like DC had his hands up ready for the put back and AJ passed to his waist. If AJ shoots and misses and DC has his hands down waiting for a pass then folks would say he’s not ready for the put back. I guess with AJ everyone should just expect pass since he’s not going strong to the hoop

You do realize that almost all of the offense from 5s in the NBA is face up? There is very little back to the basket. If you watched the DePaul game, almost all of Adama's points came facing the basket. It's not a problem. He's better that way and Hurley is realizing it.

Travis was stronger later, and got bigger with the Lakers. He was skinny when he arrived.

Jake was quicker than DC is, Donovan is the slowest guy on this list.

Cliff was a star, and that was playing in the wrong era. In the modern game, Cliff would be an absolute monster. He was ahead of his time.

This is 100% true. He'd have scored 30ppg for a decade in the modern NBA.
