Interesting that he has played exactly 13 minutes in each of his games

They are barely playing him …I’m guessing they’re just moving him along slowly while losing games and showcasing Ayton for a trade.

Sucks early but I think everyone in Portland can see the monster brewing.

That was two days ago...yesterday he was not nearly involved.
12 min 2pts 6reb 1 blk
Gonna take some time to earn minutes from Ayton but I doubt it takes more than a few months.

9 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks...in just 13 minutes. A monster in the making.
It is tough being a center on a bottom team. Portland essentially plays playground pickup ball, and everyone on the team is trying to jack up shots every time they touch it to pad their stats. I’ve watched most of his games and Clingan has played well, but Portland rarely runs any plays to get him the ball. It has got to be frustrating to go from college to “the pros” and have the offensive scheme regress to pre high school level. That is not just Portland but more than half of the NBA. Outside of the top 8 teams NBA basketball is essentially 5 guys playing 1 on 1 against each other.

His conditioning is also bad right now. I suspect that will be what makes or breaks his career. Not much else holding him back

I think the "conditioning" thing is totally overblown. What do you think the Blazers have been doing for months?

It's not conditioning, it is the speed of the game. DC will adjust.

He could get more minutes if they changed the sub pattern slightly. They have been giving him 3 minutes at each side of the 1st/2nd and 3rd/4th mostly, from what I’ve seen.

How many rookies are getting more than a few minutes? It takes time. He’s 20 years old and is now playing against the men of the NBA. I see everyone’s darling, Reed Shepard barely plays.

Right now steal of the draft and getting the most PT is Bud Carrington out of Pitt. He’s starting for Washington along with Sarr, leads odds for ROY. Edey and Risacher also starting. Knecht getting some solid PT. Aside from that, fairly muddled PT for many of the other rooks.
