Geno (or the ref) was a little slow on the draw with that T.O. or Christyn was just too fast coming up the court. Either way not a big deal unless she ends up two points shy of some record at the end of her career.
No Harry P. around to help Geno "fix it" this time.
Great programs don't worry about individual records, they just happen. Remember the funny adage from the early 80's: the only person to hold Michael Jordan under 20 was Dean Smith.
When Christyn came to UConn was she thinking about 1000 points or was she thinking about 2000 or even 3000 (Maya territory)? I bet she could care less about that bucket.
In Geno's presser, he was surprised about it but quickly pivoted and said why would she want to have her 1000th point be a simple end of game layup. Better to have it as part of a 30 pt effort in the next game.
