A data-driven scouting collective - they evaluate based on concrete film study and independent success w/ different techniques, and try to isolate the success of the player apart from the larger context or result of each play. Did this player win their battle on this play?

Its an interesting metric-driven approach to scouting - think of it along the same lines as moneyball in baseball - take the reputation and other more subjective evaluation out somewhat.
 
"Collective" makes it sound like a bunch of hippies in a drum circle.
