He's planning on making a decision after his AAU season ends? Isn't that pretty soon?

No we are looking at around the start of the next school year. AAU is just getting started. high school basketball just ended a month ago.. The summer circut is the biggest time for AAU basktball. He should make a decision probley at the end of the summer or begin of the school year. we just need to hope no other school persuades him during the summer!

Those are some darn impressive highlights for a freshman.

2014 could be a potentially special recruiting year:
UConn should have all 13 scholarships for the first time in a long time.
The new practice facility should be finished.
The kids will know they can play in the tourney.
A few elite players in New England: Chris McCullough (5 star, #3 PF), Noah Vonleh (5 star, #1 PF), Kevin Zabo (4 star, #5 PG), and Jared Terell (4 star, #6 SF).

All 4 have some interest in UConn. If UConn could land a guy like McCullough early, and try to pull in those 3 around him...

Of course the big question then will who will be coaching UConn? Perhaps after next year, Ollie is named the coach in waiting?

This is great news, Chris McCullough is bigtime. He's 2014 now but pretty sure he's one of the many New England Prep School kids who reclassified, probably could go back to '13. Either way I love hearing this and expect us to offer, we want kids who want UConn, especially kid's who are top 10 players.

Fwiw, McCullough also called St. John's his "dream school" this past summer.

Perhaps he's decided to dream bigger...

I could see Ollie/Smart/Coach X taking over the reigns in a year or two (after JC wins #4, of course) and hauling in a Calipari-esque class.

In the 2014 class alone, you've got McCollugh, Jahil Okafor, Wayne Selden (MA), and Noah Vonleh (MA). And that's just in the top 15 alone. Selden's a guard, Vonleh and McCollugh are power forwards, and Okafor is a center.

PG-Boatright
SG-Selden
SF-Vonleh
PF-McCollugh
C-Okafor

Is that thinking too far ahead? You can never think too far ahead.;)

Kid should have stated that cuse, providence, dook, etc.. was his dream school. Now UConn can be patient.

Never play your cards too early, son!

He better get his release point higher or he might end up being Andre Drummond 2.0. Gay had a very, very high release point. This cat would do well to bring it up 6-8 inches.

Seriously though, these are freshman highlights? Really good.

Impressive for freshman highlights... kid's game reminds me a little of Roscoe's but a little more athletic and less physical.

Yeah, he also said graduation rates were important. Go figure?

I'm just going to assume you are a SJU fan.

If you are, what was the direct quote regarding SJU being McCullough's "dream school"? All I have seen is a line written by a SJU fan website with the "dream school" part thrown in. See below:

Chris McCullough, a 6’8”, 200 lb forward from Salisbury School (CT), called St. John’s his “dream school” and raved about the coaching staff and city of New York.

There is no surrounding quote. That in itself is a huge difference between the SJU quote and the UConn quote. See below:

“UConn is my dream school,” McCullough told NRS, “they were my favorite team growing up. If they offer me, I think I’ll take it.”

The SJU one is very sloppy and could be vastly misleading depending on what was said surrounding that. It could have been anything from, "A BE like SJU/UConn/WVU/etc. is my dream school" to "SJU is my one and only dream school". Perhaps I missed the full quote and would love to see it.

For that matter, I know nothing about NRS and how reputable it is, does anyone else?

Agree, the release point is too low, but he has a nice touch and hopefully can learn to adjust it. He seems to move very well in a straight line, hope he has some good lateral quickness as well.
