Good to see Donovan Clingan continue his progress. Going 12-13 from the field and 5-7 FT. He dominated against an undermanned team in all facets of the game.

One deficiency tonight was our three point shooting. Other than Spencer (3-7), the rest of the team went 1-21. Karaban and Newton were 0 - 11 from three. Hopefully, we got our bad three ball shooting out of the way before Kansas.

New Hampshire shot 39% from two and 48% from three. But, that’s misleading with Baker doing most of the 3 ball damage early before UConn adjusted their defense.

Against various levels of competition part of our identity is rebounding. We out rebounded New Hampshire 49 to 28.

Tonight I got flashbacks from last season with Big East officiating managed by the weak Big East Commissioner. It started with an odd technical on Tom Moore and in the second half there was one bizarre foul call after another despite leading New Hampshire by a lot in every other category. To the casual fans this is very unusual. There’s a reason we dominant OOC very good competition but struggle in our league. Yes, it is a good conference but the officiating has been personal and unprofessional.

The game had little rhythm and UNH made contested threes. Zebras were terrible and they had a lot to do with the lack of rhythm. Newton did not play his best game and yet had a double/double and was 3 assists from a triple/double.

The refs were scarily bad and inconsistent tonight.

The shooting needs to be much better from outside.

Not a great performance, but not too bad in what easily could have been a trap game with Kansas and North Carolina on the horizon.

My prediction is Tristen will have another Triple Double - hence doubling the previous record of two by a player.

Looked pretty good for first 30 minutes, but completely fell apart last 10. Much of that seemed to be frustration with refs that completely disrupted all flow to the game by blowing the whistle every 5 seconds. In the last 10 minutes during garbage time I felt like everyone was trying to clean up their 3P shooting percentage. It was just a barrage of bricks in last 10 minutes. On an off shooting night I would like to see more drives to the hoop, more passing, and more effort to get easy close shots. They did that for most of the game with Clingan, but once he was done for day it was jack city.

How many FTs did UNH take in JUST the 2nd half alone? 28?!!

That is an absurd number, particularly since UNH doesn’t run an “inside the paint” offense.

“Something” wasn’t right with the officials last night with the way their calls kept that game from being a 30+ point blowout.

Unfortunately I was hoping with the NC things would change this year with Big East crews, but with a League Commissioner either incompetent or unwilling to manage her employees, it appears to be an issue again.

I could go on with Karaban not being freshman of the year last year, Donovan only making honorable mention. As if beating the top teams in the country by 20-30 points isn’t enough.

But, allowing officials to apply their personal animosity during games is unacceptable. It strikes the very fabric of the integrity of the game. This is why perhaps the best team in the country is picked 3rd in their conference.

Not a fan of his 3s in the first few seconds of the shot clock.

The refs have the power. They will call it the way they want. When you piss them off, they are just human. Be ready for them to retaliate. Not saying that's how it should be, but that's how it is. How often do refs get fired?

Would you rather have Kevin Ollie pouting on the sideline? There is a balance. Hurley just needs to find that.
