Chief’s Briefs - Illinois Edition

Jail break late first half and early second half. Clingan was dominant on both ends. A 24-2 run. Tonight’s game was all about keeping Donovan on the court. Our +/- with him on the court was the key metric. Dovovan scored 22, had 10 rebounds and blocked 4 shots. Also, he effected twice as many.
Plus, whoever is keeping score should be fired. Donovan has at least 7-8 blocks.

Great job on Shannon. Three of our guards had 5 assists or more (Newton, Spencer, Castle). Spencer and Diarra contributed 11 points.

Once again our 3 point shooting was poor but Donovan and Hassan carried us.

The key defensively was stopping Komask. Castle was sidelined on that assignment with 2 fouls in the first half, but I thought Diarra did pretty well despite giving up size.

Need to work on our 3pt shooting despite 30 point wins. Love this team.

3-17 from 3. 3-22 last game right? Ok let’s do the math. 6 for 39? We are a good 3 point shooting team and they have to fall or am I crazy. These could be 40 point wins.

DC was dominant at both ends. SC is a lock down defender. Shanon averagw 28 points in the tourny and only scored 8 tonight.

Take ESPN stats with a grain of salt but they say Illinois was 0-19 on shots Conovan contested. Let that sink in. Illinois is one of top offensive teams in country.

No one seemed up in arms about that play, but i though it was dirty, bordering on really dirty.

AK did a great job to grab hold and get his balance there.
