Chiclet's University Episode on Toscano FIF

When people complain about how much the Toscano cost for what we got in the actual rink, they're missing all of this. I do think a couple of decisions could've been changed in there to increase capacity a little bit, but overall, the facility itself is beautiful. They spent their money on the things that matter to the team.

I don’t think an additional 1,000 - 1,500 seats would have increased the cost significantly. It was shortsighted for a good sized state university to not have 5,000 seats.

Early on we established that the design and features included in the facility were geared to maximize player and team outcomes and for recruiting. The complaints have centered around the fan experience and awkwardness of the venue in terms of silly lounges, broken sections, and placing cameras too low (should be where the Blue Line Club seats are).

There have been improvements though, such as band to risers on the deck and have student fans in the bowl, and the hand painted sheet banners that hang there do add some college like ambiance along with hand created poster boards held by students. Still it’s rare that the place is juiced up due to many empty seats which is totally baffling considering the small capacity of the arena.

The equipment workshop with elite blade customization, high tech strength and conditioning center, and recovery amenities along with Bluetooth everywhere means it is a marvelous place for players to work on their bodies and game. It’s no wonder Cavs stayed when other opportunities may have presented themselves and believes he can win here…I loved his statement about NIL and 10k and selling long term professional visions.
