Impressive, that explains why it was ranked so high

It's too bad this newest one didn't announce on ESPNU on signing day. Could have made a move for the Monmouth hat and then changed last second and grabbed the UConn one, crowd and announcers go crazy

I shouldn't complain, we did get to a prestigious bowl last season

Over half of the 2016 class chose UConn over a P5 program.

Go jump into a sewer.

Virtually none go to UConn. We landed a kid this year that's 6-1 210 pounds and slow that we beat out Monmouth for.

Statistics alone the recruiting is as bad as ever, maybe the worst since they went major D-1.

I've been reading these types of posts since UCONN went 1A. UCONN has been very competitive recruiting the way it recruits. Anyone who thinks UCONN is going to beat out the likes of ND, Michigan, Clemson, etc. on any type of a regular basis lives in a fantasy world.

In addition, the recruiting sites do NOT get all the information and they also get some of it wrong. A few years ago it seemed about 80% of the kids in skill positions were reported to run 4.4 or better. Think that was accurate?

I would say it's pointing out facts rather than complaining

Semantics

I wonder if the new kid is a favor

And it's worth noting that we have been 1A for less than 15 years. If JSM can't handle the fact that we were not able to reach that ND/Michigan, Clemson level in that time period, I have a suggestion for him: pick a new team to root for.

You need new material... sure you smugly giggled when you posted this last year.
Does UConn have any guys left doing the hat thing on TV? 4 hats UConn, Buffalo, Akron and James Madison and kid does that fake for the Akron hat and then grabs UConn hat. Crowd goes nuts.

C'mon, this is funny, unfortunately we now need the hats to be Monmouth, UConn and Springfield College

The irony is that, after your post last year, we had one of our better classes using the measure that you apparently favor -- offers from P5 schools. Yet, 4 players into the current class, you're back to beat the same drum.

The 2016 class was rated 101 by 247 and average recruit rating was below Western Mich, Fresno, GA Southern, Western KY, etc.

The recruiting is bad, the product on the field is worse. Can't wait to watch the Shirreffs offense again. I shouldn't complain, 86 yards passing against that elite Marshall secondary was a good effort

Non-responsive. When defeated on one argument, move to another. You're predictable, and not very bright.

While you are battering this putz ... you missed (our formerly trolling) Mike Farrell saying this: "“I expect the number of prep players from Connecticut to triple in the next 5-10 years.” That - btw - is an interesting take and one that will increase our YIELD of the higher rated. (*because Mike Farrell is lazy as all get out)

That is good, but what does it matter if none go to Uconn.

In 2014 UConn got none of the top 10 CT players, last year got 7-10, 1 3 star and 2 2 stars. So far in 2016 several have excluded UConn from their lists.

The recruiting is awful. A lot of it is related to being in the AAC, but UConn is at the bottom of the AAC.m, which is doubly bad.

Ok, how does this affect the awful UConn recruiting? Did you watch the St Pete Bowl? That was awful, especially the offensive performance.

Again ... You ARE a PUTZ

The true measure of recruiting & coaching is the overall on field performance (don't pick out one game again as your arguement), not the numbers assigned. Remember Dwayne Difton, the 4 star WR we hyad from FL? #39 ranked receiver in the class of 2009 and couldn't play for ? What about the lowly ranked first rounders we've produced. To assume that these ranking sites have the ability and time to watch and rank every player is ludicrous. Hence the instant bump when a recruit signs with Alabama. They figure they missed one and just bump them up a bit.
Had the record not improved you might have an arguement. But being 6-7 is an improvement from the 2-10 the year before and our highest win total since FHCRE's last year. This year hopefully will see an increase on that number.

The recruiting is awful, worst it's been in the last 10 years, yes, they went 6-6 in the AAC and played in a prestigious bowl game last year against a loaded C-USA team.

Anybody remember the DB Chesco. Used to disguise himself as something other than a BC hack. You don't suppose...............
