Miami won earlier.

Florida vs. St. Joe's on now. Florida up 16-4. Florida starts 3/5 from 3 and St. Joe's 0/3. Basically the opposite experience for both teams of their games against us.

St. Joe's now 0/9 from 3 to start. Last one just bricked off the backboard.

They're shooting 29.7% on 3's in the games outside of ours.

Edit- Now 1/14 at halftime. They were 8/13 at halftime against us.

Probably for the best for us if Florida wins this game. If we're in any position to make the postseason at the end of the year, that has to be a quality win. They look pretty good right now. St. Joe's looks bad.

Looks like Florida is gonna escape. Clearly they need Kerry Blackshear. Gotta be disappointed with his inability to stay on the floor thus far if you're a Gator fan.

This Ryan Daly kid is something else though..

Agree about Daly.
I was dumbfounded what he did against us but seeing him play in person has changed my perspective of him.
The kid knows the game. He plays smart,he plays well and he,along with his team, plays their system well. He really uses his body to his advantage and he was quicker than what I thought I saw on TV.

I St Joes shot 3/23 from 3 against us we win easily. Good to know they aren’t as bad as I thought. We still should’ve beat them going away

Did UConn recruit Xavier's Tyrique Jones very hard? From Bloomfield. I don't remember. Kid has turned into a very good player. 6-9 and 240. Haven't had one like that in a while.

Tyrique Jones grew up in Bloomfield rooting for UConn. He was recruited by Kevin Ollie while at Vermont Academy and made an unofficial visit, but wound up at Xavier instead.

Tyrique Jones could face his hometown team, UConn, on Friday

No we didn’t, really should have though. He is what we wanted/hoped Mamadou was going to be.

We ended up with Momadou I believe. I may be wrong but I think that was the same class. They were ranked pretty similar if my memory serves. Both in that 100 to 130 range.

This Xavier team is very good. Mature and poised defensively, and patient to find the open shot on offense. They would be a difficult team to matchup with, and a better test of our mettle than Florida was (obviously focused on Buffalo first, which I don't think will be a walk in the park by any means). Lots of Xavier fans seem to have made the trip too, as usual.

Pretty bad night for the couple of posters who think the Big East is a step back from the American. Georgetown was looking like the 8th or 9th best team in the conference this year. They are up 16 on Texas with 2 to go.

Did look like a good Xavier crowd. Many Big East schools have solid fan bases which is something I took for granted spending 5 years in the AAC.
