Right from the start it appeared UCONN was more into the game. Kayla McBride was as fierce as any competitor but not so much from other nd players. What was supposed to be a hard fought game between two closely matched teams really didn't materialize. It was a bit of a disappointment and I was almost feeling bad for nd.....NAH!!!!!

I posted a thread about this - hard to call up the intensity of the semi-final against Maryland a second time around. Everybody on that team was so wired to compensate and win one for Natalie against MD that I think a letdown in the NC game was inevitable. And I don't think this is far off what happened in 2011 and 2012 - the high of beating Uconn in the semi was so great that they experienced a letdown in the final, especially against A&M - against Baylor they probably lose if it was the semi match-up as well.

I learned from my powerlifting days, that it takes approximately 18 days to fully replace the body's store of adrenalin. When you spend a week getting yourself and your teammates psyched up to give a supreme effore for a fallen teammate, it is very difficult to match that intensity in only 2 days.
