Brendan Rodgers is off to a glorious start as top man at Celtic. They just suffered what is being called the worst loss in Celtic history and one of the biggest upsets in all of soccer. in the first leg of a Champions League qualifying match. The Lincoln Red Imps, of Gibraltar's "top league" upset Celtic 1-0 in Gibraltar. The Imps are a semi-pro team, whose players all work full time jobs in town (cops, delivery guys, etc...). Celtic will still - no doubt - win the home leg by a bunch and advance to the Qualifying third round, but just the fact they lost in a real match (not a friendly) is stunning. This is different than an EPL team losing to a 3rd Division team in domestic Cup play that means very little, this is to qualify for UCL.

Come On You Imps!!!

This is embarassing, but Celtic should smash Lincoln at home. This doesn't bode well for the next round as there are some teams that Celtic could struggle with.

Don't underestimate the Brodge. He could very well blow it.

Brodge is fine, but if he did blow it here they would fire him immediately.

Wake me up when we get to the play in games.

Brodge blows. He has zero self-awareness. He actually thinks that good season at Liverpool was because of him.

watched the game, Bhoys played horrific. There are some players from the past manager that do not deserve to wear the shirt and need to be booted, looking at you Efe Ambrose. Have faith in Rogers just need to turn the roster over in certain areas but this was an embarrassing defeat to say the least.

BRodge is making the Celtic faithful sweat early in his career. They're currently tied 1-1 at home (2-2 on aggregate) v. FC Astana of Kazakhstan... Kazakhstan for goodness sake

and Celtic sneaks thru to the next round, getting a 90th minute PK to win 2-1 (3-2 aggregate). Both their goals today were from PK's.

Sleeper of the season so far, Dundalk. Put a hurting on Bate Borisoz last round but Legia is always tough.

True. The 2nd big upset was Young Boys knocking off Shaktar Donetsk. I don't thing they'll do the same to M'gladbach.

Will be good for Pulisic and F. Johnson getting UCL minutes.

Celtic, after struggling the first two rounds draws a fairly easy match up compared to what were other possible opponents. However, I thought playing a team from Gibraltar and then Kazakhstan would be cake but clearly not so much.

some good finishes today. Kobenhavn with a late goal to advance over APOEL; Zagreb with a late equalizerm and then the winner in the 30 minutes of extra time to advance over Salzburg; Rostov (the Russian leagues "Leicester City" routs Ajax to advance, but they alm,ost called the game at half time due to continual racial chants from the Russians. City and M'gladbach advance as expected (F. Johnson had a solid 90 minutes).

The group draw is this Friday!!! Cannot wait.

Rostov (the Russian leagues "Leicester City" routs Ajax to advance, but they almost called the game at half time due to continual racial chants from the Russians.

With everything that happened last season and at the Euro Cup, I expect UEFA to hammer any Russian team if evidence support such. Rostov would likely play their home leg in an empty stadium.

Group Stage Draw:

A: PSG, Arsenal, Basel, Ludogorets
B: Benfica, Napoli, Dynamo Kyiv, Besiktas
C: Barcelona, Man City, Monchengladbach, Celtic
D: Bayern, Atletico, PSV, Rostov
E: CSKA, Leverkusen, Spurs, Monaco
F: Real Madrid, Dortmund, Sporting, Legia Warsaw
G: Leicester City, Porto, Club Brugge, Copenhagen
H: Juventus, Sevilla, Lyon, Dynamo Zagreb

My breakdown:
Group A - PSG, Arsenal shouldn't have much trouble.
Group B - Easiest group along with G...Benfica and Napoli advance.
Group C - Pep vs Barca again. The Germans are good but they finish 3rd. Celtic has zero chance.
Group D - Bayern, Atletico no question about it.
Group E - The "ehh" group...no lightweights but no big boys either. Each team has a shot. I say Leverkusen and Spurs.
Group F - Real and Dortmund but I think Sporting could surprise some people (also Ronaldo going back home).
Group G - LC could not have dreamed up a better debut group. Porto finish first, and I'm pulling for LC at second.
Group H - Juve, Lyon advance. Sevilla is made for Europa League. It's their thing.
