I could be way off, but my gut tells me BC is going to make a few on here eat some crow all said and done.

Cespedes impressing UConn coaching staff with work ethic and attitude

>>He looks like a completely different and more polished player after experiencing a developmental growth spurt during his redshirt freshman year with the Huskies. He's bigger and stronger, adding about 40 pounds. He's listed at 6-foot-7, 308 pounds.<<

>>"He was big," said Mike Cummings, the offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator. "He loves to play. He loves the contact portion of the game. He loves UConn. He loves UConn football. You get a big man who loves football, loves the state of Connecticut and loves UConn, that guy needs to come into your program."

Cespedes was thrilled when UConn — a school that he rooted for in football and basketball growing up — offered him a scholarship.

It's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience so far.

"I'm having fun," Cespedes said. "It's been good. I've been improving my first year here. I love playing here. I grew a lot more with the coaches here and I'm getting ready for the season coming up. ... It's everything that I ever dreamed about."<<

I saw him play in high school a few times and while he was never the best player on the field, he'd show flashes where you would think "wow, if he could do that every time, he'll be special."

I'm rooting for him. There's another kid playing in HS right now that reminds me a LOT of him, and has the same kind of potential, but I'll keep that quiet for the next two years or until he starts getting looks.

Ahead of expectations. Took him one year to re-form his body. Cummings said strength is still lacking. So, spend this year working on technique and recognition while he builds strength.

That gets him through RS Frosh season.

As a RS Soph let him start getting snaps on the line

By the time he's a RS Junior and Senior he should be productive member if the line.

I remember when we offered him he was a rough rough product with a long way to go, its awesome to see that he has filled in the huge frame that he has. now if he can bring the technique and strength along as much as his size has improved then the o-line may have something special in BC.

He's easily the most physically imposing player on this team after Knappe

Even accounting for the differences of depth on the photo, he looks much bigger than Oak.

Cespedes #67, Oak #75.

During the spring game Cam Stapleton was unblockable for much of the time. Cespedes did give him a much tougher time in the second half. One note, Cespedes also made it downfield fast enough to down a punt. When he gets a little more comfortable, he should be a monster. IMHO, he appears to be the obvious successor to Knappe at RT.
