On my first ever cruise right now on Celebrity Beyond for a 7-night trip from Miami. Just finished up our three days out on sea and getting to our first port visit soon to St. Maarten. All be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to this trip for a while as I’m with a group of ten for my in-laws’ 50th wedding anniversary. The idea of sleeping on a boat out in sea this long was a stretching my comfort zone, but I settled in very quickly. I’ve been really impressed with this cruise. We’re in a room with a view which is way more spacious than I expected and the window acts as a reading nook too. Tons of storage. Staff is incredible. The food in the buffet is diverse and better than expected (I’m gluten free so super easy to have plenty of options) and we didn’t opt into a wifi or drink package, which I kinda like as a detox. First time on WiFi since Sunday. The complimentary restaurants are OK too, I wouldn’t do them if it were just me and my wife, but my MIL loves them so we can all be together. Gym is nice too with insane views. Nice mix of activities and relaxing places to chill on the boat. Something for everyone. Nice, sophisticated and artistic design but not too opulent. My favorite spot is Eden which is a massive three-level bar at the back of the boat and it’s like a serene art installation with plenty of nooks to hang out and watch the huge windows out into the water. The Solarium is nice too as it’s an indoor 18+ pool area with its own cafe with coffee and healthier options is and one of the few places that doesn’t play loud music by pools. It’s usually where I hang solo when my wife and her sisters are out sunbathing, which is not for me. My only complaint has nothing to do with the company or the staff, but just how it’s so weird how some people leave their stuff on seats for hours and then assume it’s a long-term reservation of their spot. While we’re not “cruise people”, I’ve been impressed with this trip so far and honestly, I can see myself booking a future Celebrity Cruise for Alaska or Europe some day down the line. Feel free to PM any questions.
