Interesting that two of the top five HG are now Europeans - first I've heard of her so her decision to head to the US for college must be recent?

I assume she is about to sign with a US College, does anyone know who she is considering ?

Here's another link for a Cecilia interview and her playing. A REAL jump shot !

If somebody gets her in college, they're gonna get a nice player. She looks physically ready anyway. And yes a nice jump shot.

.-.
Cal coach Gottlieb had a home visit with her sometime last year in Italy. Not sure who else is recruiting her.

She is really, really good.

Geno, Per assumere questa bellezza italiana.

I got a little confused when I read this as she has a birthdate of March 16, 1996!

RW: you aren't kiddin' about the jump shot....notice the step back element as well

DD: ditto. This should be a lay up for our Head Coach. And Cal as a possible destination?? Easy to point out to Zandalasini that every California girl who can really play comes to UCONN..........Taurasi....Lewis.....Samuelson etc......so why to from Italy to Cal..........and then there is also the "mangia" factor.

Sorry. I could only "like" the first two.

OOPS - sorry......there were three squares flashing in the upper right hand corner of my computer, and s

If that step back is consistent, she could be a tremendous player at 6'1".

OY: more computer or operator trouble. This incomplete post was supposed to say; "Sorry, there were three squares flashing in the upper right hand corner of my computer, and something went haywire for a time....never seen those before on my screen."

RWV: Well, I do appreciate that one, though I'm moved to say you appear to be a little short on consistency and long on fickle ;) . By the way, with reference to your BY handle, I learned to take naps from an Arkansas roommate (1 of eleven in our suite) my senior year in college. Did you have a mentor in that regard?

I'm proud to say I come by that particular talent naturally ! 1 0f 11 !!! No wonder he napped. Who could sleep in that crowd ?

Excellent way to get your post numbers up. 2 repeats and 2 explaining the repeats. 5 posts for the value of 1.

MEYER: out loud chuckles here. You know, unlike Geno , I don't teach my secrets to just anyone. (That really does concern me sometimes, the way he is always revealing his tactics, strategies, emphases. If he doesn't get the best players, he's maybe toast?)

All that plus one of the finest pony-tails I've seen in years.

Chiney may be playing on her team this winter, per my Google research...

SON: not to mention a name that is nothing short of melodic........on top of that step back jumper that could be a dagger. Know I'm going out on a limb here (been there), but with little data I'm starting to hope we go after this kid for many reasons.

Lots of good kids coming from Europe lately. I guess it's an economy thing; when the economy isn't too hot in parts of Europe, there are fewer opportunities through private clubs and early-starting professional careers.

I suppose that isn't a bad thing. They might not get paid directly as they would if they had turned pro at 18, but having a post-secondary school degree will probably help when their ball playing is done.

Many Europeans have free education through university if they qualify.

Icebear - Free education but not free room and board.
There was an article maybe a year ago specifically about the Spanish league financial collapse but also pointing to other leagues' financial conditions that suggested we might see a larger influx of European players because the pro contracts were going to be tighter and less lucrative. Maybe we are beginning to see that?

So... does anyone know if Geno is looking at her? If she is looking at UCONN?
Mi chiedo se essendo entrambi italiani possono beneficiare UCONN , dopotutto sono entrambi connazionali

.-.
I think UConn's chances with Dangerfield are quite good. Wish I felt a little better about Lauren Cox though.

I also feel UCONN has a good chance at landing her. I believe itll come down to both schools tbh. Holly has been trying to keep a tight hold on in state talent. She's going all out for Ms. Dangerfield and a pretty good leaning Chassity Carter. This will be an interesting recruiting battle imo.

But hasn't Tenn signed a highly rated point guard (forgot her name) in the 2015 class and won't that play into Dangerfield's decision?

Tea Cooper....yes they have but trust me, that still hasn't stopped Holly. I believe thats the reason why UCONN does have such a good chance at pulling her out of state.

Oh I understand Holly will try and keep her in Tenn. I'm also sure Holly realized that signing Cooper (important piece to the Deshields transfer) might jeopardize her ability to sign Dangerfield.

I'm just impressed that on his day off from USA basketball obligations Geno traveled to Tenn to visit a recruit.

It seems odd to me too and a little bit of the past repeating itself where Tennessee went after great talent regardless of position and wound up without a true point guard for several years.

It's rubbing off now I'm repeating myself...

has anybody heard anything yet on Zandalasini, or is there a surprise coming on 11/12?

It is impossible to avoid thinking that Geno will make Ms Zandalasini an offer that she can't refuse.

.-.
With some of the best apizza on the planet in Ct., she simply cannot go to California.

It would be an INFAMIA!!!

well Cal thinks they are out of the running....
