A deal was reached with the Bristol Gang apparently - they will air 30-ish league games this season.

Whatevs.

Do we at least get more money or something out of the deal?...

Press release
Defending NCAA Men’s Champion Louisville and Women’s Champion UConn Prominently Featured on CBS Sports Network this Season
CBS Sports Network has acquired the rights to telecast college football and basketball games from the American Athletic Conference through a sub-licensing agreement with ESPN. The multi-year agreement begins with the 2013-14 college basketball season and continues through 2019-20.
The deal provides for 30 men’s basketball games per year, except for the first year, which calls for 25 games. CBS Sports Network also will telecast a minimum of 13, and maximum of 15 football games beginning with the 2014 season.

That's CBS sports network, not CBS broadcast channels. It mentions there is a separate CBS deal for mens BB games, so those more marquis games should still be on WFSB. Still... not sure if this is better than having that number of games on ESPN3 or not. UConn fans may have to use the channel finder!

It's a good thing. Takes the place of ESPN3.

And while their announcing is terrible, CBS Sports Network has far better cameras than third tier ESPN broadcasts (which usually just utilize whatever local equipment there is).

Replaces or in addition to

Well the games CBS bought aren't going to be on ESPN3. So are there still other games that will be on ESPN3? Of course.

For what reason? The contract is dogsh!t because they bid nothing.

Just guessing they probably felt they couldn't sub the product for anything. ESPN will make money off of it and NBC passed on a cheap deal.

NBC was always a fantasy. They couldn't be cheaper. It's amazing they actually made some progress with the EPL. That's almost a better property than the NHL.
