The list of True 5's isn't all that impressive - if things click for Tarris, I could easily see him hopping most of those guys. There is no denying his physical traits & skill.

He's a consistent and dependable go to move, and staying out of foul trouble away from being 1 on that list. I don't really want a college 5 to be a jump shooter, which the first three guys are noted for. I cannot remember the last time a jump shooting 5 lead to anything in college hoops. I want my 5 to protect the rim, swallow rebounds and be an inside bucket in must score possessions. Tarris would maul most of the guys on this list. Ike, for instance, is more of an inside big and Tarris has 2" and 20 lbs on him. Ike does have that little left handed hook, type of move that Tarris needs to develop. Bindunga is more of a 4-5 hybrid than a true 5, at 6'9" 220.

UConn with:

#3 Combo Guard: Silas Demary Jr.

#2 Shooting Guard: Solo Ball

#1 Off-ball wing/4: Alex Karaban

Strong case for top five True 5: Tarris Reed Jr.

Reed should be in the top 5 for True 5. He will be by the end of the season.

Mullins in at #9 for shooting guard as well...which could easily be low if all goes according to plan.

Thanks. Missed that since I didn't click on Trotter's tweet. So UConn has 5 guys mentioned.

Just adds to @alexd's comment that they should be pretty good.

Yeah, that ^^^

"Armed with real-deal guards".... "exquisite, shooter-friendly scheme".... "an unguardable UConn offense".

I guess we should be pretty good. 😉
