Amongst other notes:

"Linebacker Yawin Smallwood, offensive tackle Jimmy Bennett and defensive tackle Shamar Stephen are among the key players who will be held out of the game. Pasqualoni couldn't even put list a number of players who will be held out of the spring game but when I said "about 20" he said that sounded about right."

All I know is that a healthy Casey Cochran with a year and a half of college ball under his belt can only be good for the program.

If Whitmer lines up under center for the first game of the year he will have earned it after being pushed hard in spring and fall practice.

Also, Whitmer is susceptible to follow-on concussions from here on out and Cochran needs to be ready on a moments notice.
