Caron isn't going to get a lot of press with Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and maybe even to some extent Billups around. However, if he has games like last night he can serve a very important role for the Clippers. 11 points, 10 rebounds (led the team), 4 assists (no turnovers), and 3 steals (led the team). Pretty nice job stuffing the stat-sheet. I hope he can stay healthy.

He's gotten the injury prone label, but one of his season-ending injuries was a broken hand (flukish) and last year's knee injury was a patella tendon, which people usually come back from 100 percent with no more risk of a recurrence than anyone else. Celtics fans were worried about "injury prone" Ray Allen because he had foot surgery and he has barely missed any PT in last four years (knock wood).

Caron blended in nicely - played well off the ball, got some open looks, shared the ball unselfishly when others were open, hit the boards. He's an excellent piece for that team, especially if he continues to hit the 3 at a decent clip (35 percent or higher).

Noticed the nice box score too.

He's in a great position to do well with the Clippers. He's the 3rd/4th scorer on that team and has shown the ability to blend in and still be productive.

He will absolutely make that team better. Caron will also have some 30 point nights. Remember I said it now, so it ain't second guessing.

ESPN talking about him possibly making a run for comeback player of the year today. He also got #4 on the top ten today for that over the backboard shot after the foul last night.

We've had the good fortune to have some really outstanding guys go on to the NBA to represent UConn as a school. Emeka, Ray and Caron are three stellar examples of that. They are terrific guys who have given back to the community in numerous ways and represent themselves wonderfully. Caron, in particular, had a horrible start to his life and to be where he is now is simply phenomenal.
