I was there and saw her holding her jaw, but I missed the action that led to the whack. What exactly happened?

Apparently it was an elbow shot to the mouth.

Did you see the circumstances? Accidental? Who was at the other end of the elbow?

IIRC, Caroline and the SJ player were scrambling for a loose ball. It was totally accidental.
 
I agree it was totally an accident, but man she took a "real" shot to the mouth.

I wonder if it's one of the same ones she had knocked out in high school.. damn, this kid can't catch a break!
 
I might add that Doty was called for a foul on the play.
 
19:08 left in the first half, according to the Play-by-play. i watched the game and it was very early in first half. Doty was behind the SJ player. the elbow and the whistle were at the same time.

She chipped her teeth - they weren't knocked out. Whole different level of pain and difficulty.
 
Doty hit her mouth the SJ players left shoulder going for the BB........Freaky thing.......
 
It happened at 19:07 on the game clock in the first half or about 41:10 into the Hoopstreams video. As jsl stated her jaw hit the shoulder of the SJ player and I suspect her teeth crashed into each other chipping them.

Rich reports in his blog that a tooth was broken during the game and re-bonded on Sunday. It was the same tooth Doty broke during an AAU game.
