I watched it. Very interesting and provided some background on Caroline and Azzi relationship. Didn't know that they were good friends prior to coming to UCONN. In fact, Caroline commented that she committed first and then worked hard on recruiting Azzi. Happy that they both decided to come back for another year. Hopefully they both will have a fantastic year and be major factors in #13.

I always assumed that Paige was the big recruiter of Azzi (and that Azzi was a lock to come to UConn), so I was surprised that Caroline also was helping out to recruit Azzi.

Isn't it great that Azzi, in this super intense last year, has her best friend there. Isn't everybody anxiously awaiting Azzi's season? Has women's basketball ever had a more explosive scorer? She's got tons of support. Yea

Yup. Carol worked as hard as Paige to bring Azzi to UConn. This was prior to Paige’s enrollment, long before Azzi committed.
OK, but wasn't Paige and Azzi together since like grade school? How far back can Caroline and Azzi possibly go?

Azzi didn't meet Paige until 2017. Paige committed to UConn in 2019, and Azzi likewise a year later.

The podcast says the meet in 7 grade and have been bffs since. Idk when Paige and Azzi met but it’s been stated before that Azzi knew carol first. Not that it really matterw

Agreed we're all anxiously awaiting the season for all of the Huskies, including Azzi.
As for your question, easy now, FanSince17. For one likely quite a bit younger than most BYers, you have a rather short-term memory. Azzi has a 13.3 career average at UConn, including just 13 points per game last season.
Azzi tends to score her threes in bunches, so I'd suggest streaky might be a better description than 'explosive.'
For Azzi to be considered truly a top-level scorer, or perhaps even an All-American, she needs to do it much more consistently, how within your time frame players like Clark, Hidalgo and Siegrist have done. That'll be a tough task given the Huskies' plethora of scorers, even given Geno's apparent habit of giving Azzi extra minutes even when UConn has comfortable leads.
What I'm looking forward to is how Azzi might come up with big games against the toughest competition, as she's shown in the past. That'll be her greatest value to the Huskies.
