But ESPN is trying to call the shots (as usual):

"UConn is also working on an extension of its series with Baylor of the Big 12. The Huskies and Bears will wrap up a home-and-home deal on Dec. 18 in Waco, Texas. UConn edged Baylor 65-64 in Hartford a year ago. There is hesitation on Baylor’s end to accept a new contract at this point because ESPN wants the schools to play in January or February in the middle of their respective conference schedules and Baylor is unsure it wants to do that."

Most teams don't like to play out of conference opponents in the middle of the conference schedule. For the past few years UConn has scheduled 3 OOC games (Duke, OK and UNC) in Jan and Feb during the BE schedule. All are on Mondays after Saturday games and Geno likes it as preparation for the tournament.

let's hope they are able to do it. i'd rather see the game in Decmeber.

You have to respect Geno. He will play anyone, anywhere and anytime. Let's hope they work it out as well as the Stanford games.

.

And you have to respect Baylor. They've got guts if they want to keep playing UConn after Griner graduates in 2013 and Stewart is a sophomore at Connecticut.

Ditto!

Ditto and also - "out of conference games"may be a misnomer if conference realignments on a grand scale come to pass (no pun intended)!

I'd love to see it happen: Baylor, Stanford, A+M. etc. These pivotal extended rivalries would put an end to that old and stale talk of "Uconn has to play Tennessee!"

I think the continued series would be good for both teams. Lets hope it happens!
