Seeds 7-11, can all be rough. Think back to 04, seeing our journey and matchups is the most important thing, even from a One seeds perspective. This year our first game is going to be like round 2 of the BET. A pickum. The question is, did the Big East, toughen us up? Can we exploit our a weapons and cover our weaknesses? Will we draw teams that are matchup nightmares, or will WE give the Nightmares! Bottom line, happy to Dance, it's been a rough rocky yr as the Defending Champs. Let's take it out on our Bracket and send some teams packing!

I think it was apparent midway through the season that this wasn't going to be a team seeded 1-4
Then, it looked like an NIT year.

I was scared of Depaul on Tuesday.

So, I'll steal your words and raise them 2X

Well, to be honest, this isn't what "we wished for." It's just the best option of a turd-sandwich.

Just about anything can (and often does) happen in the tournament. Think the Big East will have been good prep but I'm a little concerned with the lack of leadership on this squad, as evidenced in the late stages of the 'Cuse game.

The good thing about the seed is that you need one big upset to completely flip the bracket. Think of Butler and VCU's road.

Butler's win against Pitt cleared some space. This is always the case with the 7/8/9/10 seeds. Once they upset the 1/2 seeds in the second round, they see weaker competition the rest of the way than the remaining top seeds. Butler's victory margins in the 1st and 2nd rounds against Pitt and Old Dominion were smaller than its margins in the 3rd and 4th rounds against Wisconsin and Florida. The they faced VCU!!! Wisconsin and Florida were set up for Pitt, not Butler.

UConn wins the first game and somehow posts an upset in the second round? They could roll right into the F4 if that happens.

First two rounds for UConn might be tougher than the 3rd round and potentially the regional championship.

My hope:

Get something akin to this bracket, take out OSU, and the 3 seed is Temple maybe, hope for Kansas's history of NCAA failures to take them out before the E8.

I agree with you, but for some reason nothing would make me happier than being an 8/9 seed and taking out Kentucky in the second round.
