Did some (light) checking around to see what Aussi WBB is paying these days...up to a mil + Aussie dollars.

Even if Kia gets half that much; it's a whole lot better than her pay in the W.

I imagine something like 150k US for half a year...not bad.

That sounds WAY off to me. I remember reading last year that the highest paid player in 2016, Suzy Batkovic was making less than 110k and she's a 22 year veteran of the WNBL and one of its stars. I also read that Lauren Jackson once signed a limited contract back in 2009 or 2010 for 220k. 2017 average pay was apparently about 33k. There is a minimum compensation of just 7,500 but no individual max or team cap. Its hard to say what she'll be paid because the numbers are all over the place.

Kia will be a standout in the league as the general level of play is much lower than the WNBA. Courtney Williams really tore it up down there last year, 2nd only to Cambage in scoring.

No way are Aussie players paid big bucks. Not for a first year player either.
Best thing about playing in Oz is you play in summer vs winter in Europe or Asia
