The guy hit 6 3pts against Michigan yesterday and is only a sophomore. As a freshman last yr he was 4th in country from behind the arc. I wonder if this kid got any other offers out of high school. I would take him in a heart beat. What a great zone buster he would be

The staff is not into shooters because they let Tolk go and filled his scholly with nil.

The staff is probably not into specialist shooters because overall they could not toss it in the Atlantic or Pacific or Miss River in their playing days.

It appears they like candidates who hustle, defend, try to board, shoot free flips and dunk and overall run the floor. I doubt they would ever hide a "shooter only" in zone defense format.

So the staff let Tolk go cuz they aren't into shooters?

Do you realize he shot less than 30% from 3 while at UConn AND he played less minutes as a Soph than as a Frosh?

I'm guessing that has much more to due with why he transferred than "The staff is not into shooters...".

Apparently this kid wanted to go to michigan but they told him he was too small. If he keeps it up and will transfer to some legit D 1 school - why not us?

I saw the NJIT highlights and I marveled at how they were hitting 3s. If you are hot from there you can compete against anyone. No surprise NJIT won, plus they were ballin with the big boys all day long.

I've seen this before in playground ball or summer leagues. If you got 'city' players who can ball and have heart, then you fear no one.

Really? If they were just looking for dunkers, why choose Phil?

That is one thing I have thought about. We kind of set up Tolksdorf to be a 3 pt shooter/part time contributor as an upper classmen. While we can poo poo it, he mightve been a guy who couldve helped space the floor. I know he didnt have a great FG% in games but he hardly played. We couldve used him as a role player.

Plus he would have given us another body who could play the 4.
