UConn may have 4 AA caliber players next year, but no way that 4 from the same team will get voted in.

KML/Dolson/Stewart all will make AA next year if KML/Dolson have similar seasons and Stewart performs similar to how she did in the tourney. My prediction is that we'll see KML/Stewart on 1st team, Dolson on 2nd team.

Hartley has potential to make an AA squad but I wouldn't consider her a favorite at this point based on her performance this year. If she performs like she did her sophomore year then she definitely has a good shot. If UCONN has an undefeated season next year (not out of the realm of possibilities) and all 4 have strong stats/performances in big games, I wouldn't be surprised if they all land a spot on a team.

I could see it happening on a 10-player AA team. Not AP, though.

KML will make the 10-player AA squads next year in all likelihood. She could also make 1st team AP.
Stewie, with any kind of consistency, will make the 10-player squads next year and could easily threaten for 1st team AP.
Bria needs to get back to where she was last year, physically. If that happens, her added experience should put her back on the 10-player AA squads. She will be our unquestioned leader among the guards.
Dolson is the most interesting - Geno expects her to be even better next year. And we saw how much easier the load was for her when Maya was in town, drawing so much attention inside (and outside... hell, everywhere!). With Stewie and KML as most teams' worst nightmare duo, an experienced and healthy Dolson will have more room to operate and inflict real pain on the opposition.... I can see even her boards going up a bit, although it's possible her scoring stays flat or goes down slightly with Stewie's extra touches and FG attempts. I think it's possible that she makes a 10-player squad next year again. The downside scenario for her AA status is that if Stewie just goes crazy, she will probably be overshadowed a bit and not have the same statistical impact, leading her to miss out on 1st team 10-player AA teams.

Agree with a 10 player, and they run the table, those 4 have a chance. They could all end up on an AP on the different teams. (15 there - 1st, 2nd and 3rd teams)

I think we may have 4 AA caliber players, but don't see voters putting 4 on one team. We may get 3 on the WBCA team and 3 on the sportswriter's team, with one player being different. If healthy, KML looks like a lock. If Stewie plays like she has the last 5 games, she's a lock and possible NPOY. Stef certainly has a chance of repeating. And Bria has played very well of late. All 4 are worthy of consideration. Hopefully, all will be healthy. I expect them all to be improved. Oh, and look for MoJo to take a big step next year.

No.

By the way, first team AA should be another interesting year with Sims, McBride, Alyssa Thomas, KML, Stewart, and Chiney, et al, all vying.

And Lucas and Gray. Next year's senior class is loaded.

The thought of 4 AAs occurred to me. But, I've decided to wait until September before thinking about this in detail. I'd like to first receive assurances that Banks is progressing well, Chong and Pope arrive safely and everybody else avoids playing any 3 on 3 tournaments over the summer.

;-p

She looks so close to turning that corner. :)

I figure after this summer, and preseason next fall, it will be Jefferson's team to run. Allowing Hartley all the freedom to play the 2. KML at the 3, Stewart at the 4 and Dolson at the 5. That's a pretty devastating starting 5.

I look at it a little differently. UConn will be much better next season. This team reminds me of the Tina Renee Kalana Maya team. The question just might be who can beat them. This is a very well coached team with a bench. Saniya will see a lot of time. Kiah will be much better . Stef will be healthly and so will everybody else. Yes we lose Kelly but how many teams can score like we score and will score next season.

I do think 4 out of 5 is not possible and 3/5 is pushing it, but 4/10 is doable. With BG gone, I am not sure there is a better center in the country now than Stef, so she might actually get a leg up for being the 'best center' vs lots of good forwards and guards.
And I think Bria will have a resurgent year. This year was mostly physical with the ankle that then got into her head. But her play in the NCAA was special - it was she who started and managed the winning run last night!

UCONN can have 4 AA next year. 2 on one team and 2 different ones on another team. I ts could be very hard to sort out the stars on the team night to night.

Looking at the 2014 list the only 2 people that could start with the 1st 4 are, Odyssey Sims or Shoni Schimmel. The others are nice players but either don't fit, and aren't better then the 1st 4.

Geno thinks Bria will be awesome next season.........Lets see what happens in the ACC with ND....The B12 with Sims and no Griner.......Ogwumike needs better players around her and outside of CAL.........Who will give her any issues outside the UCONN and Tenn games........

The limiting factor appears to be allowing other sources to set arbitrary rules.
We REALLY should just forget about AP or Coaches' or McDougles foistering their polls on us.
We need to set up our own All-American list (with 10 places on it). (At the very least, it will force Geno to have ten players each year.) Forget the 4 out of five mentality... that's 80% We require ten places for our "guys" (Geno talk).
OR we could just make one giant step and create our own League, next year!
Call it the All-American League, or something....

[Ooops.. we are already doing that...]
