Excellent analysis and a great post as always. The only caveat is Paige remaining healthy. While we can speculate that her leg was not fully healed coming back in her sophomore season, I believe she has done everything possible in preparation for this season. I concur with oldude that Paige is the most complete player in the country and her value to the team will show in games where one player makes the difference in winning. Regarding questions about not having the mentality to take over a game, I completely disagree. After all the time she has missed, her competitive fire and do-what-it-takes to win attitude will be at the forefront of everything she does. Yes, she has a talented bunch of teammates and she is unselfish by nature, but she doesn't need to score to make her presence felt. There will be games where her scoring is unnecessary, but when the game is on the on the line, there's not another player in the country whose hands I want the ball in. As oldude stated, Paige invariably makes the proper read and executes the right decision almost every time. In this season, the right decision will be for her to take the shot. Her maturation off the court will transfer onto the court. When Larry Bird played for the Celtics, most of the time he made sure to get others involved in the offense, setting up Robert Parrish down low or quickly getting Kevin McHale the ball when he entered the game. When it came time to the 4th quarter, Larry wanted the ball land was ready to take over. Expect to see a similar version from Paige.
