Not a serious thread, just for fun...

I remember hearing that at Lombardi's first job, he also coached basketball despite never having played the game. He got a book, went to work and eventually they had a championship team.

So, what would happen if Calhoun took over?

First of all, I'm sure practices would be much more intense. Better organized. Assistant's held to a higher standard. Might be a bit of puking on the sidelines.

Can you imagine Calhoun walking over the defense during the 1st quarter of the Towson game and giving them a piece of his mind? Or letting Oline know what they needed to do?

The big issue, of course, would be X's and O's, game planning and in game adjustments. The assistant's would have to step up. Calhoun would be more of a CEO type coach.

Effort, focus, discipline would skyrocket. A more than generous amount of swagger and a supersize of toughness.

Personally, I think we'd win the AAC next season with him, but I also think JC would walk on water if he really wanted.

Anyway, fun topic to me.

The NCAA would come down hard on the program without it ever doing anything...to go along with UConn's limited success on the field. Sounds like a non win to me.

Calhoun's attitude and approach to inspiring players to compete with the heart and emotion and desire to the level it takes to win is so cliché.
