Different oppositional talent. He deserved it back then and she deserves it just as much now. I don't think anyone using the term "better" is right at all. It's a record, which are made to be broken. Someone else pointed out that it was great her breaking the record shined light on his accomplishments during a very different era. I agree and I think it's so cool.
