Recently my TV is pixelating and Comcast/Xfinity said everything is fine on their end so they sent a technician out. I had an old cable box and old wires so he switched them out and said everything is good to go but he noticed it was still pixelating a little and said it has to be a problem with my TV. Everything is perfect when I stream anything but it's pixelating when I watch cable TV. I would buy a new TV but it seems like the TV is prefectly fine. What is the likely problem here?

Did he change to connection at the street? ( either on the pole or underground). I no longer have cable but, when I did, I had the problem. It took three service calls before the tech actually climbed the pole. The tech that climbed the pole called the previous tech's lazy. If you have an antenna and live in an area where you can get a local channel you can hook the antenna up and see if the tv pixilated with the antenna.

I've experienced issues before where the cable provider needed to boost the signal. I think it I was when there were multiple TVs across several splitters.

Cable technicians responsibility to diagnose and address.

We had this problem with Verizon FIOS a couple years ago. Pixalating and freezing, especially on ESPN channels. It was happening on all 3 TVs in our house so we knew it wasn't the TVs. Verizon gave us new cable boxes and everything was solved. Haven't had that issue since.

Maybe borrow a smaller size TV from a friend and see what happens? Then you can see whether the issue is from your TV. I highly doubt it so worth checking before you buy a new TV.

No, he just changed out the old cable box with a new one and replaced my old cables with new ones. All I can think of is that changes must have been made in my area months ago and they split the signal further and I now have a weak signal. I live in a major city where all the houses and apartment buildings are close together. I've lived here many years without a single problem and I've had on and off problems for a few months now. I just returned from the holidays last night and my cable TV had no problems last night. I turned on the TV today expecting to veg out on the couch to watch the UConn game and the bowl games and it's pixelating again.

The person I was planning on going to the UConn DePaul game backed out so I decided not to go to the game today solo. I'm now regretting that decision.

The outside connections are exposed to weather and deteriorate over time.

My parents recently had issues with Xfinity which required a new cable box.
I won't go in to the details I was given every time I called over the past month, but similar situation of upgrades recently done in a nearby neighborhood and requiring a newer model cable box to fix the issue.

Same. Was going to post exact thing because it happened to me too. Your signal might just need a boost. Easy fix by the technician with a small device that he plugs in. You may have just had a bad technician. I mean if it streams fine it's not the TV. It's the cable signal. Common sense. I'd call them back.

Try using your phone service just to troubleshoot.

Cable is a dying technology. I'd cut the cord. I pay $80 a month for Youtube TV. And if you can get Fios do that too.

Agreed but I got a really good deal on my cable, internet, and phone plan through Xfinity so don't want to change it up. I'm convinced they made changes in the neighborhood and that's why I'm no longer getting a good signal. I'm going to need them to send someone out here to look at it from the source.

Do you have a cable splitter? Cable and internet (streaming) are using different frequencies, and you may need a new splitter.

And request a credit for the lack of satisfactory service from them after a technician came out and failed to properly resolve your issue.

Been very happy with YouTube Tv and waiting for TMobile to be
available for internet. They have a no increase in fee plan around $50. YouTube has no streaming issues, pixellating or anything and I use a Roku even though it’s a smart tv, Roku is easier.
Have had problems at times with Comcast and Frontier. Landscapers have accidentally cut the lines in Fla.
These streaming companies are splitting off sports with Peacock, Amazon and Apple taking games from the tv packages.
In baseball you are like “where is the game tonight”. I hate it.

Have u downloaded a program that monitors your signal? I used net uptime monitor and was able to see intermittent signal issues that Fios said didn’t exist.

Program was written by a software guy that had issues with his signal too. Turned out when the sun hit his connection it was heating up and causing issues in the afternoon. He was able to show the provider and they finally replaced his cable after telling him for months all is well

Get fiber optic whenever possible. I have never had to reset my modem or anything like that.. And get rid of the cable box. Apple tv with youtube.tv has everything in single nicer UI and you pay less.

I switched my internet provider to gonetspeed about a year and a half ago. It's fiber. I like my internet like I like my women, fast and cheap

That's the problem, it doesn't have everything. Which is why I have Verizon FIOS.
