today The Acc And Sec Said They Would Not Recognize Games Against Them As P5 Games. There Then Really Is No Incentive For Those Schools To Play Them Since They Can Beat The Vast majority Of Teams In Those Leagues In Any Given Year. Last Year They Beat Texas Pretty Good. If There Was Ever A School That Could Bring A Case Against The P5, For Anti Competitive Practices, They Would Seem To Be The School That Could Really Push Back Against The Cartel. They Have Had Players Win Every Major Award In Cfb, And Have A National Title From The Eighties.

They Have The Most Compelling Argument.

May the force allow one to marry many wives and lead BYU to the promise land by winning a huge law suit vs the P5 .

finally, someone taking it in the shorts more than Uconn with respect to CR. Of course, this will somehow kick Uconn in the nut sack twice as hard. Possibly when BYU and Cincy join the Big 12.

could this lead to residual effects, possibly BYU joining the AAC? We'd have to add a 14th obviously but BYU would definitely increase the TV money for the league

How would that help them? At least as an Indy the ACC had a meeting to decide if they were P5. In the AAC they are more obviously roadkill. The only move for them now is the Big12 if they can get in.

if they don't count as a P5 game for ACC/SEC B1G, the other P5's could follow suit. If they're shut out of scheduling the P5's they need a place to stay.

BYU can join the B12 or the PAC anytime they want. The only way the AAC gets a sniff is if we give them special consideration in terms of scheduling and allow them to keep certain media rights. The AAC just doesn't pay enough for them to go that route.

The P5 is small potatoes compared to the LDS and undoubtedly BYU athletics is a valuable vehicle for the evangelizing effort of that organization. They will use their resources to protect themselves at all costs. Once again UConn is the loser.,BYU is home free.
This strikes me as an attempt to have the b12 go to 12 teams.
Cinn will probably be the their partner.further weakening the AAC. and us.

I'm still amazed that a conference can come together and blackball a particular school. I'm curious as to what criteria is being used to exclude a school that has been playing at a level as high as, or higher than, the average P5 school. ND is an independent, so it can't be that. . .

Its a fraternity. Swafford apparently asked BYU to sizzle like bacon but it wasn't a good rendition. When BYU wouldn't drink (citing religious reasons), they were shown the door.

So far, that's the most plausible explanation. . .

The pac12 wouldn't add BYU in a million years. That's nonsense.

One benefit of joining the AAC is the Group of 5 access to the play-offs.

BYU's schedule: UCONN, Texas, Houston, UVA, Utah St, UCF, Nevada, Boise St, Mid-Tenn, UNLV, Savannah St, Cali. Talk about a schedule that drops off at the end. 3 games against AAC. 4 games against Mountain West.

This was a bad move on the part of the ACC (no surprise, who's running that place).

They should have said, yeah whatever, or say it another way such as, the ACC members are encouraged to to schedule OOC games vs the SEC, B1G, P12, and B12.

Now we have on record that the ACC and others should they follow suit are actively trying to undermine other universities. The P5 designation without the NCAA sanction of D4, is clearly collusion.

This is all a ploy to clear the path for Syracuse to play Wake Forest OOC . I swear, I am about one tweet away from swearing off college football.

I don't know if it can be called collusion or not, but you are one hundred percent right. They have created a new division right before our eyes.

If UL could get into the ACC ahead of UConn, no reason UConn couldn't get into the B12 ahead of Cincy. Hope WM is covering his bases and not just monitoring the situation.

I am a bit confused by the legal justification for these announcements. If two competitors in any other industry got together and announced they were going to lock out a third, the CEO's of the two competitors would be facing jail time in addition to a civil suit (See ADM). Yet the commissioners of these leagues make these announcements with seeming impunity.
