How is it possible for Cincinnati to open up the season with two consecutive bye weeks. Did somebody cancel on them, which prevented them from finding a replacement early in the season?

Warde was unable to help them schedule games.

This may not be 100% correct but the gist of it from my understanding is they cancelled an FCS game in an effort to get a big game name that fell through. Then they thought the aac would get them a conference game week 1 or 2, which obviously didn't happen either.

I thought you meant Toledo was a bye week.

Lol you are correct.. they are Officially on a bye week Toledo.. what a beat down.

Cinci has noticeable talent....coaching changes, qb changes and injuries the program never misses a beat. They seem to build their program on transfers and Jucos. Maybe Uconn should go that route .... You never know how freshman will turn out from prior coaches.

Yup.

>>What happened: Cincinnati was scheduled to open the year hosting Stony Brook. But then-athletic director Whit Babcock (now at Virginia Tech) went to Tuberville and said he could schedule a home-and-home with Miami starting later this season – it would simply necessitate dropping the Stony Brook game. Tuberville said Babcock believed the American Athletic Conference would move a league game into one of the first two weekends, so he signed off on it.

And then the league game never got moved.<<

Possibly blowing a 41-7 lead to Toledo would not look too good....

Giving up 31 pts to Toledo. Another stellar night for the AAC.

Cincinnati simply cannot play defense. If it weren't for that first half fumble by Toledo this would almost be a tied game.

@TomGroeschen: Attendance 31,912 here for #UC game tonight at PBS

Kiel has more TD's tonight than Whitmer/Boyle had last year, combined.
