OK.
The hoops season is officially over. Now comes the "off season".
And nothing says "off" more than the BYC.
If we are able to pull it together, this spring, this will be the 10th BYC (hence, "The X Games").
So....Get out your crayons, scribble all over your calendars, marking June 15 and June 22.
We need to cobble together some kind of group to help organize this mess. And we need to have several arguments.
Argument #1 - "Those two dates don't work for me!" I expect this particular argument to persist for several weeks, on its own, with everyone who has a conflict on those two days, still being unable to find any other weekend that works any better for them.
Argument #2 - Where are we going to play? For the record, I think that Quarry Ridge is a bit cranky with us, again. This is largely my fault as I waited, perhaps a bit too long, before cancelling the last one on them. (But, I honestly believe that they have gotten over the rape of the pansies.) And I fully expect a voluable discourse as to why Kenny Park is simultaneously our best and worst option. Personally, I would push for Willimantic CC, if for no other reason, maybe we might get some one or other of the "principles" to help fill out one of our foursomes. (You never know.)
I am confident that we can sustain several other, tangential arguments, as well.
Who knows, maybe some of those loud mouthed Pee Cee You fan boys will put together a team.
Let the trash talking begin.
