It was a dreary day in late October or early November when we made our first call for ballots taking over from the highly esteemed Plebe. Voters trudged through the mud and cast their ballots in what was the first of many polls this season as we all flung our best predictions to the heavens and prayed to whatever god was out there that we would be right. It was remarkable how incredibly wrong we were on some accounts. For instance, Utah, who was highly regarded by the Pac-12 coaches, was only a measly 35th in our poll. As mud turned to snow, and fall turned to winter, Utah's promise has come with the first hints of spring as a flower that could make a dangerous run into March. As voters, we have come to learn that we were wrong and we have rewarded Utah with a season high #3 in the poll after their continuous improvement. Other tidings this season have been the fall from grace of once highly heralded teams such as the Wolfpack, Louisville, Tennessee and Texas. Each shall have the chance for redemption as we enter tournament season and the beginning of a new season or chance for each team to begin anew. Our visionary voters perhaps correctly predicted that South Dakota State would win the Summit, picking them 23rd in the preseason poll over their Coyote rivals. With that being said, we clearly got Princeton dominating the Ivy horribly wrong, as Princeton continues to battle for their crown against the Lions of New York. We underrated Duke, Villanova, Gonzaga, and some kind souls went on a spiritual journey after throwing votes away by voting for Kentucky, Texas A&M, DePaul, BYU, or even......Florida. As the regular season draws to a close, we're excited to see how these rankings bear out over the course of the chaos that tournaments bring as each team puts their best foot forth and battles for the crowwwwn. Without further ado!
