Kaitlyn
Ashlynn
one of the prime weaknesses of this season's huskies is a real shortfall in experience. only paige, azzi, kaitlyn and, now, aubrey add it. probably, one of the primary reasons for the glowing comments about Carol in the interviews above is the experience she willingly shares.I was impressed by Ashlynn's knowledge of the game flow and how she expressed herself. She has become my favorite player since the day she came to Uconn. Caroline was my favorite until all her injuries and she couldn't play, which broke my heart. She deserved better, especially after the way she stepped up when Paige got hurt. IMO I still say Ashlynn should be starting instead of Kaitlin. I think Ashlynn would have a lot more points now than she has and would have helped the team more. I do not want to say that Kaitlin is not helping the team, she is, I think Ashlynn would have helped more and Ashlynn's defense has really improved since last year. Ashlynn is 3rd in 3 point shooting and tied for 2nd with Paige in steals. GO FRESHMEN!!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!
`I didn't dump Caroline. She became my non-playing favorite. I should have said it better, She wasn't playing so I couldn't root for her. All I could do was pray she would play again. I believe with Ashlynn's play last year in scoring ( 3rd on the team,419 points) and her far improved defense this year, I would say she is experienced. Notice I said I was impressed with her grasp of the game and how she expressed herself. I know she plays a lot of minutes ,but it's the mental aspect of starting that's missing. I have not the expertise of the majority of posters, I only post what I feel and think. I thank you for replying to my post and made me clarify about Caroline. In my previous posts about Caroline I said she would be an AA and end up on the wall because of the way she played when Paige got her in Caroline's freshmen year. I had the highest hopes for her.. Still hope she can get into a few games this year, GO HUSKIES!!!!one of the prime weaknesses of this season's huskies is a real shortfall in experience. only paige, azzi, kaitlyn and, now, aubrey add it. probably, one of the primary reasons for the glowing comments about Carol in the interviews above is the experience she willingly shares.
ashlynn is important and deserves your support, of course. but she doesn't provide upperclass, mature experience the team needs. ash still plays massive chunks of games, you know, even when she doesn't start.
why did you dump carol as your favorite, BTW. hope she never reads the BY!![]()
Yes, I agree, except that Ash should start. Yes, she is more than capable to start the games. She is also at the top of my list of favorites as well. I really enjoy her game with her never stop attitude. Geno has a plan, and I trust that his plan can and will give our Huskies the best chance to advance in the big tourney. With any luck we have the next 2 1/2 years to celebrate Ash's game. Enjoy the game today Next 12, I'll be cheering on Ash right along with you. Paco, I have no idea of what (or when) the measure of "mature experience" is for you, but I think you are short-changing both Ashlynn and KK. Both of these sophomores have played more games in a Husky uniform than either Azzi or Caroline, and both sophomores have played more NCAA tourney minutes than either Aubrey or Caroline. Heck, both sophomores have started in as many NCAA tournament games as Kaitlyn whose Princeton team went to the post-season the last three years she was there.one of the prime weaknesses of this season's huskies is a real shortfall in experience. only paige, azzi, kaitlyn and, now, aubrey add it. probably, one of the primary reasons for the glowing comments about Carol in the interviews above is the experience she willingly shares.

Thank you for your support. Ashlynn was 3rd on the team in scoring with 419 points and KK was 4th with 346 points if I remember correctly. Other teams that had starters that did not score as much. or go as far. ....The Freshmen last year rose to the top of the performance chart and played with skill and determination and became proficient players. This year I would say that SARAH is an experienced player. and she is definitely an asset for Uconn/ GO HUSKIES!!!!!Paco, I have no idea of what (or when) the measure of "mature experience" is for you, but I think you are short-changing both Ashlynn and KK. Both KK and Ashlynn have been through a trial by fire during their freshman season. Now 22 games into their sophomore season, I think they have earned their stripes.
We have eight players with at least five games of NCAA experience. How many other WCBB teams this year can say that? Hard to call that a real shortfall in experience.
