Did anyone else notice the picture of UConn practice that was on the inside page of today's Hartford Courant sports section?

It showed Natalie guarding Morgan in the paint. Natalie's left arm was high in the air, and as far as I could see, there was NO BANDAGE of any kind on her left hand or wrist.

Big news, in my opinion.

Not to be a buzz kill, but the picture is undated. It very well could have been taken before her injury even occurred.

I'm not positive which picture you are talking about .... This is the picture from the on-line article today

If so, then there is no clear view of her left hand. However, this is one of the pictures I used in my little Christmas song (at the top of the page) the other day and I believe it is a picture from several taken back in September.

Actually, caption alongside picture denotes taken at September 22 open practice - pre injury. But, shows a bit of what we hope to see real soon.

Related news. The great (perennial all-stsr) St. Louis Cardinal catcher, Yadier Molina, had his left thumb injured last September. Apparently the surgery didn't "take" so another surgery was undergone recently. The Cards hope he will be ready for spring training.

Molina got injured while wearing his catcher's mitt and tagging a sliding baserunner out at the plate. He is a very tough guy, consistently catching 130+ games each season.

Anybody still wondering why Geno has been cautious about having Natalie suit up and play?

Regardless as to when the picture was taken......Butler looks like she is going to be tough to get around without someone catching an elbow to the chin or side of the head....:D

Good point Kib. Christmas is a week from tomorrow. As another poster mentioned, this was about the time the medical staff indicated she should return. It appears their target date was accurate. We know she has some catching up to do. This can be accomplished during conference play.

Geno will have her ready come tournament time. I for one hope she's as good as advertised. Based on who's on the roster now, and who UConn has received commitments from, she's going to be relied on heavily, and will see a lot of playing time in the next 3 years. I think UConn's most immediate need right now is a back up for her.
