UConn Huskies

The UConn Huskies picked up the ultimate victory in the National Championship, and they have won yet again in terms of the offseason. Now they lose great players like Adama Sanogo, Andre Jackson Jr., and Jordan Hawkins, but the youth is going to be otherworldly strong for the Huskies.

They hold on to the third-ranked class in terms of composite rankings according to 247Sports, and that class is led by Stephon Castle. The 6’6 combo guard can be a dynamic playmaker and scorer and should be a player that UConn fans enjoy watching this upcoming season.

Dan Hurley has used this National Championship run to continue to recruit well, and while they do not bring in any transfers at least yet, they are building what could be one of the most consistent programs in all of college basketball.

They add to their guard depth with four-star shooting guard Solomon Ball from Brewster Academy, and two 6’7 four-star small forwards in Jaylin Stewart and Jayden Ross.

Yousouff Singare rounds out this recruiting class as a three-star 7’1 center that could be what backs up Donovan Clingan this year.
Putting those two giants on the floor together could also be crucial in late-game situations where a team is going to throw a lob up to the basket.

The Huskies have continued their dominance, and this young team will look to make another deep push in March this season.

Nothing new here. Obviously, natty #5 didn't impact our recruiting class for for this year which was already in place at the start of the season. Also, it appears that the "double big" posts aren't going to disappear this season.

Such an unnecessary point to end that about putting them on the floor together in a super rare, 0.5 second situation.

Shows they don't know much about the team either. Stopping lobs from Karaban or Johnson to DC is already challenging enough for defenses. Even from Newton and Castle. We are a really long team.

Don't forget Ross who us basically a 6' 8" two guard/wing.

Solomon Ball - to me he is the kid who could be the most impactful IF he is hitting his shots - a pure scorer who may well end up playing next to Castle more than some think.

I remember in '88 getting excited when we recruited our own "twin towers" in Dan Cyrulik and Marc Suhr. ;)
