I know it's been mentioned on here before, but he NEEDS to learn how to slide or these threads will be about Boyle before you know it. I appreciate his desire to earn the extra yards, but he's more valuable to the team on the field vs. the side line.

Diaco should have gone to Boyle early in the third Quarter. This wasn't BS's day. We needed one thing in the second half--passes down field thrown where players could catch them and stay in stride.

As a runner he is the best UConn has had since T. Lorenzen (a really strong runner). As a passer he seems to be settling in to Chndler Whitmer status. CW & BS have average arm strength (i.e., ability to throw long). Maybe that explains why so many good running backs come out of Georgia.

Agree....Maybe that is why NC State wanted him to be a running back .. tough day for the kid. he does give us options - hope he can stay healthy..

LOL. Anheuser Busch had me read this as Bullsh!! On Shirreffs twice. Now it makes sense.

Shirreffs can be an effective QB for us but it will need to be with his legs more than his arm. If we can accept that he won't be a gunslinger (not sure how many on here are), there won't be ridiculous criticism of his shortcomings. My guess is by September 15, 2016 there will be a battle cry on this board for Davis (although those making the posts will have little beyond their imaginations to justify their claims of Davis' excellence.

You're exactly right. You can't win the games in this conference against the better teams with your primary offensive weapon being your qb running the ball. He's taking to many hits. Div. 1 is a lot different than high school. You take away his scrambling, and little to no offense at all.
