- Kind of an abbreviated ThoughtZ™ today, having pieced them together from the highlight video & ESPN's play by play, because I have no interest in getting involved with Peacock. Hell, I just cancelled a bunch of services I never watched any more. Not adding another one. So...
- Couldn't help feeling that we escaped with a win in a game we should've coasted through.
- Stats -- FG% - 45 to 43. 3pt% - 46 to 33. We got outrebounded 24 to 25. We won the battle of the dimes, 18 to 14. But 18 assists on 27 FG does not feel UConn basketball.
- One more stat -- the Home cooking line. We were called for 20 fouls to Butler's 13.
- Even with the home cooking though, I thought the worst stat line was Butler blocking more shots than us.
- Johnson had 6 points in the first 3 and a half minutes. Played another 12 and a half minutes, but never attempted another shot, although he did have a timely block late in the game.
- Mahaney shot 3 of 4 including a three pointer. But other than a dime and a foul, he did nothing else in his 10 minutes. Still it's nice to see him taking some shots, making them, and not turning it over.
- With his 21 point, 6 rebound performance, Alex is the obvious choice for POG, with McNeeley getting some interest as well. But I was most impressed with Diarra's game. Other than his 12 points, 3 steals and 7 assists, he played disruptive D & grabbed 4 boards.
