UCONN needs to have a huge Video Billboard built off 84 at the exit that can be seen from both directions of traveling cars. We are the Basketball Capital of the World and everyone should be reminded to take pride in the University and its athletic teams. I always liked seeing the sign by the exit but the University and Athletic teams are missing a great opportunity to sell itself by not promoting itself properly.
The picture of Coach Hurley by the current sign is a little embarrassing. His team just won the National Championship and you know how proud he is of the 5th Championship. The size of the sign and how it looks is like someone built it in their garage.
I would estimate 175,000 cars drive by everyday. Think of being an alumnus and every time you drive by and see your school in lights. Think of every car from out of state, seeing how proud the state is of her flagship University. Every kid who is in that car and seeing this beautiful billboard and then asking their parents questions about the school. It could be used for selling all types of things that UCONN has to offer. Academic, Athletic, Social, etc. The possibilities are endless. Think of the recruit that is driving to UCONN and sees his name in lights welcoming him for his visit.
