Pretty interesting. NIU dominated the Bulls statistically. Looking at the box score, it's hard to figure out how UB won.

Buffalo rushed for 77 yards and passed for 107 yards.
NIU rushed for 165 yards and passed for 194 yards.

My guess is one more TO and two missed FGs for NIU.

Buffalo didn't seem to do anything significant on offense vs NIU.

They did crush UMass and FCS Lafayette, but got shutout 38-0 vs Mizzou. Hard to tell what they are.

It's a team that you don't want to let hang around, you've got to cash in and can't get burned by the big play (the box score looks a lot like UConn 2022 season victories). NIU let them hang around and paid, Buffalo moved the ball on exactly three drives.. and by move the ball I mean hit a HR play for their two TDs. NIU's missed FGs were both less than 40 yard attempts.

Buffalo had 3 drives total that went for more than 4 plays. They had 4 drives that achieved a first down. 5 of their 14 drives lost yardage.

During Edsall’s first run, our sweet spot was being outgained by material amounts but winning games anyway.

Buffalo offense was not impressive. They have a linebacker who is very impressive and needs to be accounted for. The OL and tight ends will need to watch some film to figure out how to block Dolac. Understanding his responsibilities in various situations should guide playcalling and formations. We may want to consider some misdirection and avoid running Evers in his gaps. Could be risky to challenge this guy. But we should have some of the same advantages as this past weekend. No idea what happened to NIU but glad Buffalo got the W.

Here's hoping they mistake good fortune for talent amd rest on their laurels (and Hardy) this week prepping for the Huskies.

They have a very opportunistic defense, but given our offensive line, I’m not to worried. That being said, they will gamble with some single coverage and try to kill the quarterback.
