Based on that ranking, I'd say they're pretty "bullish" on this team's prospects compared to recent years. UConn at Buffalo seems to be considered a toss-up - certainly it would be another nail in the coffin for HCPP if we did drop this one.

I remember us not being able to stop that Neutz kid last year (their top WR) and he is back. And they may actually have an effective passer this year which is something they obviously lacked last year. That plus what is supposed to be a very good defense and an away trip probably makes this game more of a challenge than most will assume.

Obviously they should win our game with them. Based on the ranking,

Maybe we should attach rankings to boneyard posters.

The problem with that idea is there would be 1,000's of ties as no one ever admits defeat on here.

I just found it interesting that Myerberg is relatively upbeat on Buffalo this year given they have been a real doormat since Turner Gill left. Unless there is a drastic change in the way our team performs on offense, we're going to struggle this year to produce wins. I'm sure the vast majority of the people here won't think twice about Buffalo and just assume it is a game we should win handily. Based on an independent person's viewpoint, that isn't the case.

Why? Was it the bad pun or because it actually tries to talk about football for this upcoming season?
Your making references to buffalo beating us makes me more nauseous than watching nick wallenda walki g over the Grand Canyon last night

If UConn loses to Buffalo, P should be fired immediately regardless of how the team does against Maryland and Michigan.

-buffalo is a top 4 mac team this year
-fans think they have a real sleeper team
-the ooc has them playing tosu, uconn and baylor. they feel that 1-2 or 2-1 in that is very possible. tosu is not within reach as they are a #1 contender this year. they feel good about uconn and baylor upsets if u will.
-they rebranded and think that the ny tag plus a good season could really create a buzz to help the school
-usa today thinks that the bulls will beat uconn and lose to tosu and baylor.
-they also think that of the 8 mac games they play, 6 of them are wins with ohio and toledo being the tough ones.
-the bulls should be a bowl team next year

UConn's OOC strength of schedule sets us up for the BCS championship game, especially if Michigan beats ND and Maryland beats Clemson and FSU. LV beats Kentucky and USF beats Michigan State and Miami - and UConn runs the table. If Buffalo is this good - an undefeated UConn gets to play Alabama in the title game.

I just don't think a one-loss to Buffalo UConn team gets you anywhere near the discussion.

UMass will be the best New England FBS team in 3 or less years (but still wont be nearly good enough to win the MAC).

Yeah...just gonna go ahead and ignore Mack Tion now, which is what I assume his name is.

?? Just because in my opinion that Buffalo will win and it doesn't agree with yours? Thought this was a discussion board and not an agreement board.

My MAC East predictions:

1) Bowling Green
2) Ohio
T3) Miami/Buffalo/Kent
T6) UMass/Akron

I believe this is the quote that most people here would find offensive. You're welcome to have your opinion but don't get your feelings hurt when you visit someone else's board, tell them that their team will be worse than UMass soon and others decide to ignore you as a result.

Lose the persecution complex. If I went on your favorite MAC board and pronounced that "in 3 years or less" the Sunbelt Conference would be better than the MAC you and your MAC buddies would be screaming bloody murder.

You made an asshat comment, don't expect open arms. BTW, you won't get banned, just eviscerated.

Don't sleep on the importance of the Towson game. If Towson beats Richmond who beats NC State who beats Maryland who beats FSU, Clemson, Va Tech and WVU, then we are probably the frontrunner for a Pasadena at-large to play against Alabama. That is, if and only if, we can manage to squeak past the #5 ranked (I assume they'll be at least 5 by the time we play them...maybe higher??) Buffalo Bills Bulls.

Like I said before, if we lose this game, P should be fired immediately.

uconn vs the mac since 2002: 19-4

@buffalo ?

This is our first road game of the year, right after the Maryland and Michigan games. Classic letdown spot. Hope Coach P has the team ready....

Sometimes there are just games that you have to win in any given season. You have to win them when they are having their best years and you not so good a year and you have to win them when you are having a good year or when both are bad. For us, Buffalo is that game. I don't care how good a year they are having, if we lose to Buffalo Paul Pasqualoni is not coming back. And when you look back at last years game, it really shouldn't have been that close. UConn had a commanding lead, 24-7 lead and then tried to sit on the ball and gave up a score on a busted play and a late field goal. Could we have lost? Sure that staff was imminently capable of stealing defeat from the jaws of victory. But it would have required even greater ineptitude than we showed.

The Sunbelt is better than the MAC
