Doug Bruno says there is no way that any team except Baylor, ND, Uconn, or Stamford will win the National Championship.
I tend to agree.

Does anyone else have a contender?

I'm not sure he said "no way".

“I’ve said all along here over the last couple of weeks that there are four teams that have a chance to win the national championship, and that’s Baylor,Notre Dame, UConn and Stanford,”

I suppose you can translate that into everyone else NOT having a chance.

Those 4 are the heavy favorites. I expect at least 2, perhaps all of them, to make it to the Final Four. Baylor still has a small edge. I think Stanford is #4, but the Cardinal are well ahead of the rest of the pack.

I'd say Duke is close to Stanford.

Stanford has an excellent chance.

Didn't realize that the Huskies had a secondary wcbb entry in the Top 10 from the UConn Stamford Branch.

Stanford is still work in progress, a long way to go to be F4 team, imho.

I would bet that ND, Baylor, or UCONN win the title..... though I think there are about 3 or 4 others that could make the Final 4.. though not win it all. Stanford, TN, Duke, and Maryland.. and possibly KY.

I would put Baylor, UConn, ND in the top tier. I would Baylor and UConn tied at the top with ND just a shade behind. But its close enough that could all be my #1, #2 or #3 by March. Stanford and TN would be in the next tier. I know everyone will object to putting TN that high, but I think that if they are healthy, that's where they belong. Stanford has had a much, much easier schedule than TN and has struggled against the likes of Oregon State (!!!) and USC. If Stanford had TN's injuries and schedule they may well have had four losses tpp. Same goes for the Duke's of the world, only more so. I would put Duke at the top of the third tier, followed by KY and MD, with Delaware, Miami and Rutgers knocking at the door.

It's very hard for me to imagine anyone other than Baylor, UConn, ND, Stanford and TN winning it all. And TN only if they get healthy and Simmons finds her groove.

(from Hartford Courant, 1/22/12)......"I've said it all along that there are only four teams in the country capable of winning the national championship," DePaul coach Doug Bruno said. "Baylor, Stanford, Notre Dame and Uconn."
