The mighty Northern Arizona Lumberjacks took down San Jose St. in the first game of the night in Maui. One of those "not what you would expect" results based on previous records--NAU 2-6 vs. SJSU 8-4.

Only three votes all day on this poll. Not looking good for interest in this game. :(

4-2 BYU at the first media break.
OSU already has 8 reb.
That means there’s a lot of shots being missed.

OSU 28-17 at the half.

Better 2nd half when Rueck took out the two freshman. Defense was much better w/o freshman.

Ugly half of basketball. OSU with a little flurry at the end. I'm not sure if BYU's defense is really all that great, but it sure had the Beavs stymied for quite a while. BYU has been awful themselves, if OSU was playing anyone decent they would be in trouble.

Never like these games in Maui

I hear that. Last year was the first time I got to see the games. To my eye they never seem to play well over there.

Ugly, ugly game. Beavs showing some toughness with a smaller lineup after their two frosh bigs both picked up their second fouls in second quarter.

The only thing I'm liking about this Maui trip is Kat Tudor is getting lots of PT. We need her O and D.

Tudor caught fire w/ 3 straight 3's and finally the Beavs have blown it wide open 57-33.

BYU scored 23 points in Q2-Q4 combined.

Maddie Washington gave the team some quality minutes and offense this trip. She spelled our frosh bigs when they were in foul trouble and used her strength to help limit the effectiveness of BYU's size inside.

Once again, Oregon State's limited ball movement and perimeter dribbling in the first quarter limited the separation the Beavs were getting for their shots. The Beavs are a much better offensive team when the ball isn't sticking in a player's hands. When it does, the offense is easier to defend.

The Beavs played much better basketball after Rueck was assessed his technical. His action seemed to work in this case. His team showed some fire and added aggressiveness and the refs started calling some fouls. The point differential of the game after the technical in the second quarter was likely +35 Oregon State.

While every OSU Beaver fan is anxious for Kat Tudor to return to 3-point sniper form, I am excited to have Kat back on perimeter defense. Kat is a very good defender @ 6' tall, reads screens well, and, understands how to play OSU perimeter defense. As much as she contributes offensively, she contributes equally defensively. Glad to have her back, and glad Rueck is giving her lots of minutes.
