As the least acknowledged of the 4 seniors, Briana none the less has I believe had a positive impact on UCONN women's basketball success. She answered the call when more players were needed, giving up her track scholarship. She has always appeared to relish the few minutes she gets to play in the blow-out games, always having lots of energy and not afraid to take a shot. Most of us would say her best moment was the steal and race full court for a lay up recently. She is clearly a fan favorite even amongst the super talent others possess. I think we are all happy when she gets into the game. And she seems to have the respect of her team mates. Thank you Briana and congratulations in your future medical career.

I believe that Geno will honor Briana in the traditional Senior Day way on Saturday. I guarantee that this Boneyard will pay appropriate enthusiastic homage to future M.D. Pulido as well. She has earned our respect and deserves our love.:):)

She is very much a part of this team. She is at practice every day, and that is where she contributes to the team the most. Geno knows this and so do her teammates.

Any idea what she plans to do next year? Forgive my ignorance by does UConn have a medical school? She does have a year of eligibility left but I doubt it's realistic to be in med school and play hoops.

I'd love to see a profile on her on one of the numerous shows we get to see. And then a follow up in a couple of years on how she's doing.

2028: Of course you can do this. Don't let anyone tell you you can't. It may not be easy, but nothing worthwhile is easy. You can accomplish anything you want if you want it bad enough and work hard enough. That's the way the world works. Don't ever let anyone stop you from chasing your dream.

Thanks, Dr. Polly.

Polly is just about Moriah's height, so she is vertically challenged. Coach says she is the most improved.

Along with her M.D. Diploma and Board Certifications, she can hang this photo, proving that she was part of one of the greatest basketball classes ever:

Hohum. Just another smart, intellegent, solid American turned out by the Mecca of WBB. It is an honor to see women like her. A fine example of young womanhood.

According to Mr. Adamec, Polly will be in the starting lineup on Saturday. Well deserved!

great, article: thanks. Highlights:
"It's been a journey," Pulido said "It was a struggle at first and then I figured it out. It was a struggle because of all the expectations of being here. I guess I had a hard time adapting. I'm just glad about the growth that I made."

Pulido came to UConn on a partial track scholarship. After the Huskies won the 2013 national championship, Stewart put out a tweet that the team - which had only 10 returning players and incoming freshmen - was seeking walk-ons.

Two answered the call - Pulido and Tierney Lawlor.

But instead of a cakewalk, Pulido - who would be given the nickname "Polly" as the Huskies already had a Breanna (Stewart) and a Brianna (Banks) - learned that Auriemma had the same expectations for walk-ons as he did for his All-Americans.
"On the court, I'm expected to do everything that everyone else does," Pulido said. "I'll get yelled at as much as anyone. I didn't expect it to be like that. I had heard at other programs that it was a little different. I'm glad that it's like that here. There is no room to slack off."
"It's changed me in the sense of becoming a more determined person and not giving up," Pulido said. "There have been times that have been really hard. I've pushed past them and I've figured out what my role is and what I can do better. I'm trying hard every single day."

yes, uconn does have a medical school, a good one I believe. I mean, we have the uconn health center right in Farmington.

Don't think she has another year of eligibility since she did track her first year - maybe someone else could clarify on that. but either way, she's not playing another year... med school is way too intense for that...

good luck to Polly in getting into med school wherever she chooses!

I think I may have a better plan. Polly attends medical school at Tuffs University and uses her last year of eligibility playing for Carla Berube. Becoming probably the first Player to Win 4 National Championships at 2 Different Divisions of WCBB.

Talk about opposites: you have Polly pre-med and next to her is Stewie majoring in basketball!
