Same 'ol Gabby. Still playing tough defense. It hasn't been that long. At UConn, wasn't Gabby usually assigned to guard the other team's best forward/wing? Congratulations to Stewie and Gabby on being named to the WNBA ALL-Defensive team.

Former UConn women’s basketball stars Breanna Stewart and Gabby Williams were named to the WNBA’s All-Defensive first and second teams Tuesday afternoon. Stewart made her first appearance on the All-Defensive first team while Williams, named to the second team, received her first all-defensive honor of her career. Joining Williams on the All-Defensive second team were Connecticut Sun starters Alyssa Thomas and Jonquel Jones. One WNBA player once quipped that Stewart has long arms and knows how to use them. She said "being guarded by Breanna sometimes feels like being guarded by an octopus."

Unfortunately, voters have to choose their picks based on position and not the overall five best defensive players in the league. I've seen many voters on Twitter relay this message in order to explain how Alyssa Thomas is second team and not first (because they had to choose between Wilson, Stewart and Thomas for the two post spots and obviously Wilson and Stewart are going to be the two chosen). I think the WNBA should get rid of this rule so that the overall five best can earn their respective spot.
