Stewie said (paraphrase), "There's no right way or wrong way, not in motherhood, not in marriage." Words of the wise that I phrase somewhat differently. The other one I liked was with a baby around, you can't count on doing anything on time.
Very early in marriage, I learned that there's not one right way or wrong way to do anything. We have very different styles of doing things, from loading the dishwasher to driving. Along comes a little one with a whole new agenda. My wife was the primary caregiver. She started picking up shifts once or twice a week, so I was home alone with the little one 6-9 hours. Boy did I get a new appreciation for how much work my wife was doing. It was extremely stressful till I realized I just couldn't count on a couple of free hours in the shop or for cleaning. Once I gave up any expectations for getting something done or getting someplace on time, it was all good.
